Recent Obsessions | 001: Wellness Spirals, Julian Haites, and Chaotic TV queens
Protein-packed smoothies, Khloé’s 40s glow-up, and a cliffhanger I’m still not over.
Currently Watching
I’ve been deep in the chaos of The Kardashians and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills this week—and both shows delivered.
Let’s start with Khloé Kardashian turning 40. Not only did she serve looks (see: the Harrods fragrance launch), but her energy right now is giving new decade, clean slate. She’s embracing her 40s with optimism and peace, and honestly? I’m into it. As for her birthday party theme, I am MANIFESTING this vibe next month when I make a return to Cowboy reads.
There’s something really grounding about the way she’s shutting the door on old drama and opening herself up to joy. Her new podcast has been a big inspiration for writing Oh My Lit, especially how she’s leaning into purpose and vulnerability.
Meanwhile, RHOBH continues to be deliciously messy. Dorit and Kyle are both navigating heartbreak and drama, and it’s messy in the most bingeable way. But Erika Jayne and newcomer Bozoma? That powerhouse female vibe they’re bringing? So refreshing. We love a glam but grounded energy shift.
Lastly, I watched Adolescence on Netflix—and wow. The entire series filmed in one take? It’s intense, emotional, and technically stunning. The themes around identity, pressure, and school systems stuck with me. A very raw but necessary watch.
Currently Eating
I’m leaning into a high-protein diet right now, but it’s more about longevity than just the next season’s body and the Every Summer After (book pun fully intended). I’m experimenting with flavours and feeling more nourished, more energised, more me. This isn’t just food—it’s part of a bigger wellness shift I’ve been spiralling into lately.
Currently Listening
I’ve tried audiobooks lately, but I’m finding myself drawn more to conversations than plot lines. Podcasts and interviews are really hitting right now—especially ones about food, longevity, and skincare. I’ve been tuning into Chris van Tulleken’s work, and it’s reshaping the way I think about what we consume—not just food, but everything. The wellness girl era is incoming.
Currently Reading
The Magnolia Parks series has fully devoured my soul. I cannot stop thinking about that one cliffhanger (you know the one), and Julian Haites has me in a chokehold. I’m annotating quotes like they’re breakup songs and living for the fashion references.
If you’ve found me through Socials, check out my character aestetic post where I share a wardrobe collection of what I would have worn ‘If I Were a Character in Magnolia Parks’. This challenge was so fun but there was an insane amount of preassure as Magnolia is a marvel when it comes to fashion. I’m definitely more of a Daisy Haites vibe in fashion but I do like a little glam.
Saying this, I’ve now moved onto Conditions of Will and if you’re looking for MPU crumbs this book is just oozing with that Jessa Hastings writing style. Sam Penny has been a favourite among readers. I get the hype. I’m really excited to see what she has to write about now she’s branched out.
